Namecheap Uses Facebook Likes to Activate $1.99 Domain Deal

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) July 07, 2011

Namecheap, a leading domain name registrar, recently ran a successful promotion on Facebook that generated over 5,000 new fans to unlock a $ 1.99 coupon code for a new com/org/net domain name. Domains purchased with $ 1.99 coupon code include free WhoisGuard, Namecheap's proprietary domain name privacy option, and a free Comodo PositiveSSL certificate. The total value of this opportunity retails for more than $ 53.

"We thought we'd leverage Facebook in a unique and compelling way," Richard Kirkendall, CEO of Namecheap said. "As a result of this promotion, we were able to bring our community together -- there are so many new discussions with members helping each other -- while also giving back to the community in the form of a unique coupon code to all Fans of our page for a highly discounted domain package."

The Current Deals tab was launched in late June. Approximately 500 new fans have clicked on the "Like" button on Namecheap's Facebook page daily in the interim. By July 7th, 5000 fans were reached. On July 8th, these users will be given the opportunity to click "Order Now" on the Facebook tab to activate a coupon code that is exclusive to their Facebook account. Only fans of Facebook are eligible.

Namecheap will continue to run Facebook and Twitter promotions and encourages members and fans alike to join them by following them on the respective social networks.

Inigral Announces Academic Lifecycle Engagement Platform with Enrollment Management, Admissions Marketing, Student Retention and Alumni Engagement Solutions on Facebook Platform

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) October 28, 2008

Inigral Inc., the emerging leader of application development on the Social Web for higher education, has announced at EDUCAUSE 2008 that its new product "Schools on Facebook" is the first Academic Lifecycle Engagement Platform, a solution for colleges and Universities that includes admissions marketing, enrollment management, student retention and alumni engagement functionality. Today, Inigral also announced, in an accompanying press release, that it is the first service to offer real-time, event-based data integration with PeopleSoft Enterprise Campus Solutions 9.0, the first SIS system to offer event-based data handling according to the IMS Global LIS specification.

Inigral will be at EDUCAUSE as part of the Oracle Exhibit auctioning off three spots in the private beta for Spring 2009, in addition to having a drawing for one free spot with the added value of a carpool application on Facebook donated by Zimride. Chegg, the number one textbook rental site, has also offered to sponsor any school at full cost.

"So many large data systems that Universities use do not actually engage the people the system is for," said Michael Staton, CEO, for Inigral. "With our Academic Lifecycle Engagement Platform, 'Schools on Facebook,' Colleges and Universities now can use Facebook to drive enrollment, retention and alumni engagement by facilitating community interaction around existing data."

Schools are spending four billion dollars a year marketing to students, and most admissions teams are complaining that current efforts are out-of-touch and don't reach so called "digital natives." "Prospective students aren't reading marketing emails any more and the brochures go straight to the recycle bin. Meanwhile, they're on Facebook and institutions want a presence there," Staton said.

Inigral is a pioneer of social web applications for education. Now generating wide interest is their white-label Facebook application, "Schools on Facebook". The Company has attained an impressive list of "firsts" with the social network, including introducing the first Course Management System ("Courses on Facebook") on the Facebook platform. The Company was also one of the first to release License and Support of social web applications on social platforms.
